The lake is sterile and no motorized boats allowed. The water is has always been quite refreshing (cold), but nice to kayak, rubber raft or canoe on. (Don't forget the life vests). There are hike around the lake and up to the fire lookout, snow can last late into the season, one year into July.

If you're looking for a wonderful quiet place to camp this is it. Leave your boom boxes at home and bring a Yahtzee game or good book for camp side entertaintment.

Chester is a few miles away so make sure you bring everything you need for a few days and check with the local ranger district to make sure its open.
