Grantley Adams International Airport, located in the southeast corner of the island between the villages of Oistins and The Crane, is the main airport that serves Barbados. Cities that provide direct service to Barbados from the United States include New York and Miami. Direct flights from Canada originate in Toronto, while flights from the UK originate from London (Gatwick) and Manchester (Bmi). A number of major airlines serve Barbados, including American Airlines, US. Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Air Canada, British Airways and Bmi. In addition, Air Jamaica and Cayman Airways provides service between islands in the Caribbean. Note: there is a B$25 departure tax for all visitors over the age of 12.

The easiest way to get to your destination from the airport is by hailing a taxi, which are readily available outside of the airport. Most rental car agencies will either pick you up at the airport or provide vehicle drop-off service to the location of your choice.

Over 500,000 of the visitors who travel to Barbados arrive via cruise ship. The cruise-ship terminal is located in Bridgetown harbor. Bridgetown is the capital city of Barbados.
