In St. Kitts and Nevis, buses are a very convenient and a very inexpensive way to get around. The vehicles are vans with a green license plate that starts with the letter H or HA. Each bus is privately owned and licensed by the government. The buses run on the main road in both directions.

There is no set bus schedule that you could look up somewhere, but you can wait anywhere on the main road for a bus and simply flag it down when you see one coming. Then you can ask the driver to let you off wherever is most convenient for you. It is best to pay in Eastern Caribbean coins, and fares are often about two or three dollars EC, depending on how far you are going.

Buses are very frequent in the early part of the morning and the later part of the afternoon. They are not as frequent in the middle of the day, and they do not run late in the evening or overnight.
