Do you want a wedding without all of the hullabaloo? Would you maybe like to dress formally for the biggest event of your life and yet still go barefoot?

Many of the hotels on Nevis offer wedding packages which include a wedding coordinator, photographer, cake, champagne, flowers, and even witnesses if needed. A useful list of some of the available hotel wedding package choices can be found at: http://www.lovetripper.com.

But you don't have to have the ceremony performed at a hotel. The marriage ceremony can take place almost anywhere on this Caribbean island (on the beach, in the hills, in a church, etc) and Officers of the Court known as Magistrates can perform the ceremony, unless you would prefer a member of the clergy.

Wedding coordinators who live and work on the island can make your planning and preliminaries hassle-free, by accompanying you to Charlestown to complete the necessary paperwork and such.  They can also help you select your choice of site for the exchange of your vows. One company of wedding coordinators who live on Nevis can also be found online at www.tropicalblissnevis.com.

There are a few requirements: one is that you must be on-island at least two business days prior to the wedding date. another one is that you must have with you the necessary documents. You will need your passport and birth certificate. If you have been married before, you will also need to bring the correct legal documents to demonstrate your status as an unmarried person, and people who have never been married before will need a notarized statement confirming that they are single.

Whether it's just the bride and groom, or an entire entourage of family and friends, Nevis is a good place for that perfect wedding and honeymoon ... and the rest of the marriage is up to you!

Cottle Church was the first church to practice racial equality; it was later abandoned, but now it's the site of many weddings.
