Throughout the year, there are various events and festivals held on the island, which offer visitors the opportunity to take part in something unique and entertaining. Because the island is warm year round climate, cold weather will never spoil an outdoor event (although rain may interfere).

For four days during late January, the Bequia Music Festival takes over the attention of the island.  The festival will have its 4th anniversary in 2007, and the dates are the 26th through the 28th.  The Blues Festival takes place during the first night, and is a crowd favorite.             The Bequia Easter Regatta, now in its 26th year, is held on the island over the four-day Easter Weekend (April  5 - 9 in 2007).  The Bequia Sailing Club organises both the yacht races and the local "double-ender" boats races, with about 70 boats from the Caribbean and beyond taking part . Regatta weekend marks the peak of Bequia's season, and is a hugely popular event with competitors, visitors, Bequians and Vincentians.  Accommodation should be booked up well in advance.

Bequia Fisherman’s Day, which is held during the middle of July, celebrates the wide variety of traditional skills of the island's fishermen.  The Bequia Rotary Club organises the competition and provides fresh-cooked fish lunches with local side dishes. Fresh fish is also available to buy from individual competitors, once their catch has been weighed..
