I purchased a diamond band in August of 2009. We negotiated a price on the ring, then the sales person found out that the ring could not be sized small enough. They offered to custom order the ring, if we purchased an additional protection plan. We refused and said that if they did not want to honor the price, then we would just not purchase the ring. Result was that they asked for 50% down, with the rest due at delivery. The ring was promised in 8 - 12 weeks.
12 weeks went by with no word. I called the customer service number and was told that the designer was very busy but they would get the ring as soon as possible- the service rep "Crystal" had to get in touch with another department. When I was called back I was asked why we only paid 50% as the usual is to ask for full payment "the designers want to be paid". I did not offer any more money. Another few weeks went by and still no word as to when the ring would be sent. I called American Express, and they cancelled the charge (I had called and told them if no one contacted me by the end of the week with a delivery date, I would cancel the charge). Two days after confirmation from American Express that the charge was cancelled and the company notified, I was sent an email with a delivery date. End of story, I was sent a bill for the full amount after being told the ring was ready to be shipped within a few days of the email. I paid the bill, and the ring arrived.
Despite the hassel, the ring is beautiful,it gets many compliments. It is a truly uniques design, and is perfect for my small finger. I would purchase again, knowing it might be a hassel but the ring was worth it! Put your purchase on Amex!
