Visitors to Paradise Island do not need to worry about how to get from one place to the other on the island. If a person or a family did not rent a car, it is very easy to find a taxi cab that can take visitors anywhere they need or want to go. Taxi cabs can be called for a scheduled pick up, or they can be flagged down when they are not occupied. There are also several places where taxi cab stands are located – including most of the resorts and hotels on the Island – where people can line up and wait for the next available one.

The charges for taxi cab service on Paradise Island are on  “zoned rates.” This means that the drivers will automatically charge passengers using the zone rate unless the drivers are asked to charge by a metered rate. An example of a zone rate would be a flat rate of about $25 to transport passengers from the airport to the Island . The zone fee, in this case, would be much less expensive than a metered rate.

Taxi cabs are available for short trips from a hotel to the beach, downtown, or to a restaurant. However, they are also available for hire if an Island tour is desired. Normally, a taxi cab driver will charge around $50 or $60 for a drive around the area for a couple of hours.
