Two establishments that are old favorites and have great food are Die Bratwurst and Jovitos.

Die Bratwurst is in a new location this year. Hilde moved to the one way street going up to La Quebrada/El Mirador hotel. She is one block past the Zocalo and one block up this one way street on the left hand side, large sign. The new location is much larger and quieter. She has some of the best German food in the world and is very inexpensive. The Weiner Schnitzel is too die for. She opens at 2:00pm on most days and is closed on Sunday. Ask what the special of the day is.

Jovitos was recommended back in Chicago by Rick Bayless of PBS television and the author of the many good cookbooks on Mexican cooking. Rick stated that Jovito has the best Mexican food in Acapulco. Ask for the Spanish menu and get the menu on the hard plastic card. His flauta´s with camerone and Queso cannot be beaten. Try the stuffed portabello mushrooms.

Jovito is the owner and is a character. You can tell when he is in the establishment when his motor scooter is parked on the sidewalk. Jovitos is located on the Costera in the Condesa area.

El Nopalito is a VERY authentic restaurant located about 2 blocks west of the Zocalo.
Old, dirty, hot, cheap prices, and excellent food. Chorizo, eggs, beans, hand made tortillas, all you can drink horchata for about 35 pesos.
