Vast campus of the Autonomous University of Mexico City (UNAM), one of the country's best. Noted for its fine 20th century architecture, some buildings decorated with murals. Take metro to Universidad, from where there are free shuttle buses running around he campus.
Things to see/do at the UNAM: See the Olympic Stadium with murals by Diego Rivera- home of the Puma soccer team. Take a picture of the Biblioteca (library) with its tiled mosaics depicting the history of Mexico. Walk through the Espacio Escultórico and the Sendero Escultórico- an ecological preserve punctuated by enormous geometric sculptures. Visit the Universum museum- filled with hands-on exhibits of science and history.
