Mexico City is huge, making the things to do there vast as well.  And travelers who are interested in experiencing something a bit different will also find plenty of things to keep them busy.   One great off the beaten path side trip that visitors to Mexico City will enjoy is Valle de Bravo, a small village located about 90 miles west of the city and a favorite weekend spot for Mexico City residents. 

Valle de Bravo is a small colonial town that still looks pretty much the way it did when it was built by the Spanish hundreds of years ago.  It has narrow cobblestone streets and beautiful, old Spanish homes.  The town is located on top of a hill overlooking a large lake, making water sports and fishing favorite passtimes of visitors.
