The Lake Agnes Teahouse hike is one of the most popular hikes in the Lake Louise area. The hike is 3.5 km long (one way), up 400 metres to the Lake Agnes Teahouse. Climbing is moderate, although there are a few steep sections. About 800 metres before the teahouse you will reach Mirror Lake, a small pristine glacier lake.
The hike ends at Lake Agnes (another small glacier-fed lake) and the teahouse. The teahouse serves hundreds of different kinds of teas, and some basic sweets and sandwiches. The view down to Lake Louise and the Chateau is amazing.
The trip up took about 2 hours (with a 12 year old and many rest stops!); back down was about 1 hour. An early start is probably a good idea as the trail and teahouse can get busy later in the day.
Also in the Lake Louise area is the Plain of Six Glaciers teahouse, which also has excellent views and is reached by the Plain of Six Glaciers hiking trail.
