Summertime is a great time to visit Kelowna, especially due to the huge amount of festivals and events that occur during the summer season. A few of the more popular events include:

  • Parks Alive!  Arts Alive! These two events, held along Kelowna's lakefront, feature weekly music concerts, a juried crafters' and artisan's show, and other events all summer long, from June through September.
  • Fat Cat Children’s Festival — Truly a community event, the festival is funded locally and operated by volunteers. With an exciting array of free activities and entertainment, the festival attracts more than 15,000 children, parents, and grandparents every year. Every year a theme is promoted to inspire unique and interesting activities, costumes, and entertainment. Mid-June.
  • Kelowna Apple Triathlon - Held annually in August.
  • Mardi Gras Street Festival  — Mardi Gras is a great day under the sun, but the fun doesn’t stop at 5:00 pm. Many downtown restaurants and pubs have activities and themed events all through the evening. Plus, Kerry Park bursts with fantastic entertainment from Parks Alive ! Stages are scheduled with live family entertainment. There’s also a children’s activity zone including a dunk tank and climbing wall, and some of the hottest bargains under the sun from downtown retailers.
  • Hopscotch Festival  - Canada's largest whisky, scotch, spirit, and premium beer festival returns to Kelowna with 100+ products to taste! In 2013, 52,000 visitors came to sip, taste, sample, and learn about scotch, bourbon, tons of whisky, vodkas, tequilas, rums, and  premium beer. $20 gets you in, a souvenir tasting glass, a program, and 5 free tasting tokens! Can you say yum? Sept 25-26, 2015
