Pacific Rim National Park/Long Beach
unit is located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, Canada at the end of Highway 4, sandwiched between 2 ocean-front towns - Ucluelet and Tofino. The towns are approxmiately 35 minutes apart - a short and scenic drive through the rainforest and along the beaches of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve There is a 2nd component to the park - the Broken Group Islands, located a short boat ride away from the town of Ucluelet. A 3rd component, the West Coast Trail (must be accessed with a prior booking and permission from the park) between the towns of Port Renfrew and Bamfield and cannot be easily accessed from Ucluelet or Tofino. Hiking, surfing, bird watching are all activities enjoyed by many visitors to the Park, many of whom spend the night (or several nights) in the towns of Ucluelet and Tofino
Both towns offer accommodationsrestaurants, groceries, services, tour operators, fishing charters, surf shops. Reservations are highly recommended - especially in peak season from May through mid-October.
