The Visitor Info Centre at Cox Bay is the first place to start for questions and travel advice. You can find hours and location information on Tourism Tofino's  website

There is no daily newspaper in Tofino; however, a good source of local news is the Westerly News , which comes out every Thursday. The paper’s web site is part of Canada.com, as the paper is owned by CanWest, and it is a great way to get news filtered through the local perspective. A less 'newsy' source of lifestyle information is the monthly Tofino Time magazine, which profiles local events and also has comprensive coverage of activities, arts and culture in Tofino. There is also a good, free map by  Long Beach Maps available at the Visitor Info Centre located near Cox Bay.

Bookworms could camp out at the Wildside Booksellers & Espresso Bar,  Mermaid Tales or Tree House Gift Company, three local bookstores in downtown Tofino. All of these bookstores sell guidebooks to the area.
