Fredericton is a beautiful city.  August through early October are the best times to go.  The fall leaves along the St John river are spectacluar and a trip to see one of the most beautiful university campuses in Canada is worth your time.  The historic University of New  Brunswick's brick buildings are complimented by the fall foilage.
