Touring the Niagara Region by Car

The Niagara Region has much more to offer than just the Falls itself. There are attractions and venues to satisfy numerous interests. In addition to the geology of the Niagara Gorge, there are historic battle grounds, a fort, and several buildings dating back to the War of 1812. One can learn the story of hydro-electric power generation, while viewing the massive turbines which do the work.

An abundance of gardens created and maintained by the Niagara School of Horticulture can be toured as well as the famous Butterfly Conservatory.  The region is world famous for its wine production and other fruit crops. Niagara-on-the-Lake is the home of  the Shaw Festival Repertory Theater. Shopping, dining, spas, boating, fishing, hiking and golf are all well represented throughout this area.

For a day trip, independent travelers can explore the area by car, using an audio driving tour which plays in the car CD player. It takes them through 20 sites along the Parkway, allows for stops and participation in several attractions, while providing the background information that would be given by a personal tour guide.

More information about the 2CD audio tour can be obtained at  Niagara...More Than The Falls  where the inexpensive tour can also be purchased.
