Montreal restaurants......one thing is for sure, Montreal does not lack restaurants! At every corner, at every block, on every street, you will find a restaurant. From French to Italian, to Greek, to Italian, to Chinese, to Indian, to Arabic there is something for everyones palate and paycheque.

The downtown area of Montreal offers a ton of variety, you can walk all along Ste Catherine St. and find a huge array of restaurants. Some of St Catherine's side streets have many restaurants, to name a few Pino's on Crescent St. has awesome food, an amazing DJ and the location is the best on Crescent.

St Laurent has a variety of further upscale dining which cater to a trendy, upscale crowd however still everyone feels welcome. To name a few Buona Notte , Globe , Med Grill are all fine restaurants which turn into a semi dance club once everyone is finished eating.

 St. Denis Street between Ste. Catherine Street and Sherbrooke Street is full of restaurants, mainly Greek and Italian as it is the heart of the Quartier Latin or Latin Quarter. There are some nice cafes and cinema houses where they show art movies, the street is very vibrant.
The Old Montreal and the Old Port areas have also opened up their doors for fine dining that is attracting an overwhelming amount of people from all over, to name a few, Toqué , Restaurant Cube , and Bonaparte .

Restaurant Julien (1191 Rue Union) 514-871-158 - absolutely wonderful!  It's across the street from the Square Phillips hotel's front door.  Service and food were great at Julien's. Fine dining, French and International cuisine.

And to top it all off, one must not forget Montreal's popular BYOW (bring your own wine; in French, AVV for "apportez votre vin") restaurants in the Plateau Mont Royal district. You will find dozens of those type of restaurants offering good food with the incentive of bringing your own wine which can also be purchased at the liquor store located within walking distance to the resturants. BYOW restaurants don't sell wine or other alcoholic beverages themselves.
