The Gananoque Boat Line

You can't visit Gananoque without taking a world famous tour boat cruise through the 1000 Islands.

Board one of the Gananoque Boat Line's triple decker boats for a 1 hour, 3 hour, or 5 hour tour.

The 5 hour tour stops at Boldt Castle  which was built in 1900 by the former owner of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City .    If you wish to walk about the island and tour through the castle, you will need to clear U.S. Customs, as the island is in American waters.    Be sure that you bring your identification as required.

The tour boats leave from the Government Boat Docks at the foot of Main Street.

 Chuckles Discovery Tours

This is a new boat tour for 2013 of The Thousand Islands in conjunction with the Playhouse Theatre. You can get a combination theatre ticket and boat tour deal. This tour is 3 1/2 hours long on a beautiful refurbished lobster boat that seats only 12 people. The captain is Lance and he is very personable and informative. The boat makes a short stop at Georgina Island and after that tea, coffee and bisquits are served onboard. If you prefer a more personalized less crowded ride this is the one for you. Lance will answer all of your questions about the islands, can identify many of the birds and  the aquatic life and has lots of personal boating stories to tell.
