Just because Mont Tremblant is known as a ski resort, that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of things to do off the slopes. In fact, the resort and village has a full calendar events, including concerts, shows and celebrations, that’ll keep you coming back even when the snow isn’t falling.
The biggest yearly event hosted at the resort is the International Blues Festival, ten July days of the hottest shows and coolest blues staged against the majestic natural beauty of Mont Tremblant. For a decade and a half, the festival has brought the biggest names in blues from Canada, the U.S. and beyond to the great white north, including legends like Joe Louis Walker and John Lee Hooker.
Even if the blues isn’t your thing, there’s still a good chance you’ll hear some great music during your summer stay at Tremblant. Les Rythmes Tremblant concert series runs for 7 weekends from late June to late August and brings international acts to the outdoor stages at the foot of the mountain. The program always varies, but has been known to include artists practicing in genres as diverse as soul, folk and latino.
Outdoor concerts aren’t the only Tremblant special events that make use of the resort’s spectacular surroundings; every year in August, right at the height of the Perseid meteor showers, Tremblant Beneath the Stars brings guests to the mountain’s summit for one of Quebec’s largest star parties. There is no better place to glimpse the full power of the meteor shower, which has been observed for 2 millennia and has been dubbed the “Tears of St. Lawrence” for its heartrending beauty—and the resort brings in experts and massive telescopes to assist in making the most of the night sky.
