Rye Farmer's Market
This weekly market has been in operation for over five years. The market takes place every Wednesday on the Strand Quay in the center of Rye. All manner of foods are sold, including fresh meats and seafood; baked goods like scones, cakes and pies; locally-brewed beer; fresh produce; and breads. The market officially opens at 10am and closes at 1pm, but people generally start arriving around 9:30, and most vendors start setting up around 8.
Antiques
There are at least three different antique stores in Rye: East Street Antiques, H G Gasson, and Rye Antique Desks. East Street Antiques specializes in French and English furniture from the 18th- and 19th-centuries. They are located at the intersection of High Street and East Street in Rye. H G Gasson is the oldest antique shop in Rye and also has a large collection of French and English antiques. They are located on Lion Street. Rye Antique Desks specializes in Victorian and Edwardian pedestal desks. Check them out at 54 The Mint in the center of Rye.
