There are a number of wonderful parks and open spaces in Blackpool each with something different to offfer. Stanley Park is the jewel of Blackpool's crown and offers 260 acres of scenic beauty and achitectural delight. Designed in 1922 by Thomas H Mawson and offically opened in 1926, the park hosts an impressive art deco cafe building, original boathouses, bandstand, cocker memorial tower and beautiful landscape gardens and woodland areas. Smaller pocket parks such as the Green Flag Award winning Watson Road Park, Devonshire Rock Garden's and Bancroft Park also provide refuge for both locals and visitors in busy urban life.
