Liverpool ONE has over 160 new shops, cafes and restaurants overlooking the Chavasse Park . There are also two new hotels, a 14-screen cinema and more than 600 apartments in the development.

Liverpool ONE is not an indoor shopping centre like the Trafford centre. It’s a regeneration of part of the city by the waterfront and combines the city's existing streets with contemporary buildings, many designed by internationally renowned architects such as Pelli Clarke who is famous for the Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia .

The fact that you are in the open air makes it a different and less claustrophobic shopping experience although it’s been designed to give you some cover from the elements.

Liverpool ONE is anchored by the John Lewis store and surprisingly has the city’s first ever Debenhams store as well as many other major brands that you expect to see in large scale shopping precincts in a major city as wel as some independent retailers.

Do note that parking is not free. There are various car parks and an underground car park that has been created but this can get expensive. Still for the first time in many years there is a serious city shopping rival to Manchester . Liverpool ONE is an attractive enough shopping experience.
