Philharmonic Hall is a cultural oasis in the heart of Liverpool's Georgian district, Hope Street. It is home to the world's third oldest music-making organization, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society, founded in the 1840s. The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra has a great new conductor, Vasily Petrenko, who has been getting rave reviews in the national and international press. The Hall is also very well regarded for its jazz, rock, pop, world music, film and comedy events. Don't miss its Classic Film series, on the world's only working Walturdau screen accompanied beforehand by a live performance on the organ.
