Nottingham, is officially one of Britains Culinary Capitals, although not particularly recognised for a specific cuisine, it is home to an immensly varied array of restaurants, eateries and cafes. It is actually located at Number 2 in The UK for best dining out facilites, according to another website!  Choices include Chinese, Indian, Thai, Italian, Japanese, Modern European, Spanish, Mexican, Vietnamese, French, Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Polish the list is endless! From the East Midlands ONLY Michelin Starred restaurant at Sat Bains in Lenton, to the All you can eat Red Hot Buffet Shack in Hockley, in the city centre, the budget does not matter! Within 2 square Kilometres of the Old Market Square in the city centre, there are approximately 350 restaurants and bars, so you cant possibly go wrong, with the Lace Market, Hockley and Castle areas the best places to find something to satisfy your tastebuds and every budget.

Zizzi on King Street is one of a chain of mid price good value Italian restaurants. Nearby is a branch of Pizza Express.

Loch Fyne  is also on King Street, it has the best fish, friendly service, but some diners may be uncomfortable on the plain seats. 

There are great places to eat between 2 and 10 miles from the centre.

 

  • The Hammer & Pincers (http://www.hammerandpincers.co.uk/) is a restaurant in nearby Wymeswold village. The owners source outstanding local food and have a creative and varied menu. There is always a good friendly atmosphere = one of those 'local gems' to discover.

  •  Indian Nights is a great indian restaurant in Keyworth (http://www.indiannights.net/index.php...)  Fresh high quality food. Tandoor cooking is delicious.
