The Jane Austen Centre offers you a snapshot of life during Regency times and explores how living in this magnificent city affected Jane Austen’s life and writing.

Your visit begins with a live introductory talk from one of the Centre's experienced guides. Once the scene for Jane Austen's life in the city has been set, you are free to explore the rest of the exhibition which includes costumes, a film, and a reasonably priced well-stocked giftshop. There is an authentic period feel throughout the exhibition.

Inside the Jane Austen Centre

There are the famous Regency Tea Rooms up on the second floor which has achieved Tea Guild Member status. Delightfully costumed staff are on hand to help you complete your Jane Austen experience with a pot of real leaf tea, some home-made cake or a delicious cream tea.

The Centre also offers walking tours of Regency Bath every weekend and the International Jane Austen Festival every September. The Jane Austen Centre is at the heart of Jane Austen’s world.
