There are some great golf courses in Salisbury and the surrounding areas. For some of the courses you need to be a member or at least know someone who is, but many of them are public and you can just pay a fee to play. You can usually rent clubs at the courses as well. Salisbury also has a good amount of tennis courts and soccer fields. Soccer and tennis are very popular in the area, and many of the locals play quite often if the weather is good enough. If you visit during the winter you can go ice skating as well. One thing that is quite nice to do is take a hot air balloon and get an aerial view of the city. There are also a lot of good swimming pools in the area. Because Salisbury is landlocked, there are no beaches, so the public pools are the next best thing when you want to go for a dip. Salisbury also has a number of good horse riding companies which offer either guided tours, or you can choose to take a horse out on your own.
