The climate in Betws-y-coed, and all of Snowdonia National Park , is mild yet temperate, which means that the area experiences four distinct climate changes.  Although it can be visited during any time of year, certain months are more comfortable to visit during than others.

            On average, the hottest months of the year are July and August, during which time the daily high temperatures will generally hover in the mid to upper 60’s.  Temperatures in the 70’s are experienced semi-frequently, but this is about as hot as it gets.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the mid to lower 50’s.  These summer months are generally the busiest months of the year for tourism.

            The coldest months of the year on average are December, January and February, during which time the daily high temperatures will reach the mid to upper 40’s.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally fall to the upper 30’s, with freezing temperatures sometimes being reached. 

            Betws-y-coed is a fairly wet place, and rain is a possibility during any month of the year.  However, on average, the time between September and January is considered the rainy season.
