The Walled City Cutural Trail is a perfect way to know Derry's historical sites and attractions. Every July and August, Derry City Council and Derry Visitor and Convention Bureau organize this program helps the traveler to organize his or her visit to town.
The program includes weekly tours: Maritime Mondays; Talks and Tours on Tuesdays; Family Fun on Wednesdays; Traditions on Thursdays; Arts and Crafts on Fridays and Weekend relaxation on Saturdays and Sundays. Just to have a taste of what a day tour consists of, let's take a look at the Monday program.
On Monday, the first tour starts at 10:00 am with a sightseeing city tour on the open bus; at 11:15 am take the tour to the City Walls; at 12;00 pm, visit the Atlantic memorial exhibition at the Workhouse Museum where you wil know the role of the city in World War II; at 1:00 pm, you'll have lunch; at 2:00 pm you'll be taken to the Harbour Museum where you'll listen to a talk about Derry in times of war; at 2:00 pm, board the ferry that will take you along River Foyle; at 2: 30, visit Amelia Earhart Centre; at 3:00 pm, visit Lough's Agency and admire the autoctonous fishes and at 4:00 pm, why not ride a pedal boat at Creggan Country Park. Of course, you pick the event or events that best suit your interest, but the array of possibilities to get to know Derry are multiple in only one day.

Opened this year for the City of Culture is the London Street Gallery. This a public gallery, with free admission that is running exhibitions of local and international art throughout the year. The gallery is open Tue-Sat 11am - 4pm in the historic Cathedral Quarter. Details can be found at www.londondtreetgallery.org
