The Isle of Skye tends to have somewhat rainy, and definitely foggy, weather but in terms of temperature, it is quite moderate.   This moderate temperature should not fool visitors though, because one of the weather issues which the Isle of Skye is known for is the way that it can be hot one minute and cold the next.  These rapid changes in temperature can make the highs seem warmer than they are and the lows seem cooler.

This effect is exacerbated, at least in terms of the warm weather, by the humidity in the area. The southern and western sides of the Isle of Skye tend to be where the clouds gather and where the humidity is thickest.  Travelers trying to escape this humidity will find that moving in towards the center of the Isle of Skye is their best bet.
