Going to the dogs
It is certainly an option for visitors to Cork with or without children who might want something slightly different to do in the evening.
The race track is all weather and viewing can be done from inside or outside which is a distinct advantage with our notoriously inclement weather.
Curraheen dog track is about 15 minutes drive West of Cork City. It’s on the N22 (main road to Killarney) and Curraheen is well signposted on the left hand side of the road.
If you do have a car, then Car Parking is free and there is space for 900 cars!

Races take place on Thursday, Friday & . Doors open at 6.45pm The first of 10 - 11 races is at 7.47pm and the last race at approx 10.15pm. It is a great evenings entertainment out with all the Cork Locals and the venue is nice with bar, restaurant and fast food option & carvery too. It is very child friendly and the minimum bet is 1 euro, so you won’t break the bank.
Entrance is €10 per adult, €5 for OAP's & Students with ID, there is also a great deal Family Ticket for €20 (2 adults & 2 children), and children under 12 get in for €1.

Examples of what is on offer:
Laurels Restaurant Package is the full 4 course dinner which costs 45 euro per person, and this also includes the entrance fee. You eat at reserved indoor table overlooking the track, 4 course Table D'Hote Menu, Table Side Betting, you have the table for the night, and there is also music every night after racing.
The second option is called the 'Snug Package'. It’s 20 euro per person and it includes the following:
For Groups of 16+
- Entrance Fee (normally 10 euro)
- Race Card booklet
- Indoor Reserved Seating overlooking the racetrack. (but nothing to stop you roaming around if you wish)
- 5 euro Drink voucher (cash change will be given from the voucher)
- 3 euro betting voucher
- Southern Fried Chicken and chips (which is self service anytime up to 10pm)
The third option is called the 'Stadium Trio' and costs 13 euro per person, it includes the following
- Entrance to the Stadium
- 3 Euro betting voucher
- 5 Euro fast food voucher
- It does NOT include reserved seating

If you want any of the above packages you must book them in advance. It must be done by phone and they will require a credit card to reserve it, but you can pay the total in cash on the night if you wish.
