It's a very pleasant park with lots of trees and is home to a number of local sports teams. The railway from Dublin to Belfast runs along one side of the park and there is a DART (local trains) station. A busy road forms the boundary of the west side but this can be crossed by pedestrain crossing or footbridge, which at present is in need of some renovation. Across the road there are a few shops, a small library, a school, and some pubs, cafes/restaurants. The central part of the park is recovering from a "cut and cover" operation which was part of the Dublin Port Tunnel development. At the northern end is Marino Crescent where Dracula author Bram Stoker was born.
This may not be a place for tourists; it has been the scene of crimes in the past. You may want to visit in a group or with a local.
