Pubs
As in all of Ireland, Limerick's pubs are at the center of the city's social life. Pubs can be found on any street, especially in the city center, and any of them will do for a quick pint or for a relaxed evening of eating and drinking. Any Irish person will have his or her favorite pub, and will be willing to tell you all about it if you ask. Certain pubs have historical or literary significance (some are associated with Frank McCourt's "Angela's Ashes," the biggest literary sensation to come out of the city in recent years). Some pubs feature live music, of both a traditional and popular variety. The best way to find a pub you like is to just try as many as possible and see what you think.
