Nice is not well known for its nightlife, with Cannes, St Tropez and Monaco just stones throws away but there are a few cool places to go out to at night. Nice is a cafe/pub town and has loads of great live usic venues too but Wayne's Bar, in the heart of the old town is probably the most exciting and busiest bar in Nice.
Like most of the popular bars in Nice, Wayne's has an English/American atmosphere (others are 'Irish' themed) and is mostly English speaking too. There is a restaurant that sells great English, American, Mexican food thats open all day 'til late and happy hour from 5pm to 9pm everyday. But other than the good food and beverages (which become more expensive outside happy hours, but then again, its the French Riviera), there is a live rock band everynight blasting out great cover songs and originals for locals, students, tourists, etc.
Everyone speaks English, in keeping with the 'Anglo" atmosphere but also enough French to get by. It provides a great French/English combination of clientele and keeps the bar busy everynight.
