Nuestra Senora de Los Remedios was built by the Tertiary Franciscans in 1766. It was built over the primitive hermitage of the Cristo de la Vera-Cruz (Christ of the True Cross). The legend is that around 1400 the area was forested with pines and someone found a crucifix that was attributed as having wood from the True Cross. During the Spanish Civil War, this church suffered much damage in 1936. The whole church had to be reconstructed in 1943. The church has a facade with the Rococo style. There is a tower with four floors that is topped with ceramic tile and this was finished in 1795. The church has three naves that are separated by arches resting on pillars. There is a semispherical vault. The True Cross was destroyed in 1936 and the ashes were saved in a reliquary that is in the church. There is a new crucifix that was made in 1939 by the Sevillian sculptor Antonio Castillo Lastrucci.
