The city can be divided into three sections: El Bajondillo, the Centre and La Carihuela.

Calle San Miguel is the pedestrian-only main thoroughfare of the Centre.   This is a great place for people watching as there are crowds constantly walking the thoroughfare exploring the boutiques and restaurants. The Centre is also where you will find many of the hotels and resorts that are situated across from a long, sandy beach.

El Bajondillo was once the old fishing district of the city.   Now you can stroll through area and enjoy many small shops and restaurants in the neighborhood.   The El Bajondillo beach is also here.

La Carihuela was also once just a sleepy little fishing village.   This charming residential neighborhood has scenic ocean views while some of the original homes have been converted into shops or small restaurants specializing in local seafood dishes.
