Puerta de Elvira

The Puerta de Elvira is located at the Plaza del Triunfo and was the principal gate of Granada during Moorish times. It was built in the 11th century when the Ziries were the kings. It became part of a fort when Yusuf I was the king. Today it has the arch that dates from the Nazari times. This is a National Historic-Artistic Monument since 1896.
