Travelers can arrive at the island by flying into the Ibiza Airport. Numerous regular flights are available from major stopover points including London/Heathrow and Barcelona. Several rental car agencies do business at the airport, including international companies like Hertz and Avis, as well as some local companies such as Centauro and Betacar. Taxis are also readily available at the airport, in addition to a selection of private shuttles and transfer services. Additionally, there is an airport bus service designed to take you and your luggage to your hotel. The airport is particularly busy and crowded during the summer tourist season between May and October.
As an alternative to flying, visitors can arrive by
ferry. Three main companies offers ferry service:
Balearia,
Iscomar and
Transmediterranea. Each offers one to two ferry runs per day between the island and cities such as
Barcelona,
Palma Mallorca,
Denia and
Alicante. Fares range from around 75 Euros for single passengers to around 425 Euros for cars.
