The Canary Islands are not located particularly close to any countries, though that’s part of their enchantment, and, despite its geographic isolation, Santa Cruz de Tenerife is serviced by two airports and thus is relatively easy to get to.
On the Island of Tenerife, the two airports are
North Tenerife Airport
and
its Southern counterpart
. Both are close to Santa Cruz, though the former is only a dozen kilometers out and is probably the best way into the city. Take highway TF-5 from the airport to the capital.
Flights come into Tenerife from the UK, Germany, Spain, Luxembourg, Italy, and other major Western European nations, and both airports offer taxi, car rental (including Avis and Hertz), and
TITSA
bus service into the city.
