Casa Castellarnau is a historic home built in the 15th century and is located in a Gothic building. There are many architectural styles because the building has been remodeled many times. In 1542 the Emperor Carlos I lived here. The most important families of the city have also lived here. There is an impressive Gothic courtyard. There is plenty of furniture in the style of Queen Isabella II. The building was acquired by Carles de Castellarnau in the 18th century and he made many changes in the facade. The ballroom is exceptional and the ceilings are painted with mythological themes created by the artist Josep Bernat Flaugier at the end of the 18th century.
