Orciatico is a quiet and beautiful little hilltop village about half-way between Florence and Siena. It makes a great base from which to visit those cities as well as Pisa, Lucca, and the nearby Volterra and San Gimignano. The village is small. It has one shop, one deli, one bar, and one restaurant. What more does one need!  Apartments are available for rental in the area. Unsurprisingly as it is a hilltop village the streets are steep, so those with limited mobility would not find it easy to get around.
