Rather than having four distinct seasons, Wengen is a location which tends to have two basic seasons.  Summer begins at the end of May and continues on through October.  At that time, the temperatures drop rapidly and there is only a brief period of what would generally be considered autumn before the winter sets in.  Similarly, winter continues through April when there is a brief month of spring time before it is summer again.
