This is a city with excellent international railway connections. You can make a day trip to any of the following:

• Aachen, Germany
• Belgium - Most of the country can be visited in a day train trip.
• Holland - You can visit most of the major cities including  Amsterdam.
• London - You can take a train journey to Waterloo Station for a five or six hour visit.
• Paris -  can be visited on the Red Thalys train to Gare du Nord.
