It's hard to write anything about Ghent (or Belgium) without discussing beer. There is no shortage of good places (with good beer) but Gruut ( www.gruut.be) is a standout. Opened in April 2009 Gruut is a pub/brewery located in Ghent. With plenty of indoor seats and a lovely courtyard (along with a pet rabbit) this is the perfect respite after a day of sightseeing.
