The 'Hof van Ryhove' or 'Ryhovesteen' is one of the few castles left in the Ghent center. It dates from the 14th century and illustrates seven centuries of domestic culture in an authentic Ghent mansion. It has been completely restored, including the 'medieval' garden. You can admire it's front facade in the Onderstraat 22. The interesting rear facades and the garden can be seen from the tiny Werregarenstraatje. The basement is a unique medieval construction and can only be visited during temporary exhibitions or with special events.
