It is a must, of course, to see the Acropolis with its spendid monuments like the Parthenon or the Propylaea, all representative of the so called "Golden Age" of the history of Athens. Greece was occupied for 400 years by the Turks (1453-1821). so why not learn the history of the mosques, the turkish bath, and the Medrese? The Romans occupied Greece from the 2nd century BC to the 2nd century AD (400 years). The roman market, the tower of the Winds, and Hadrians Library are some of the signts of the Roman period in Athens. All sites are easily accessible.
