Gordios South West Corfu

Agios Gordios south west of Corfu is a little hidden gem. Gordios is built on a hill so this may not be the resort for you if you are not reasonably fit.  That aside, the village itsself is friendly and the views will take your breath away.  You can't help but be impressed by the view that greets you the first time you go down to the beach front. Turning to the beach, you get to the beach via the main street which slopes fairly gently down to the beachfront.  To your left, you will find the shingle and pebble beach whilst to right there a beautiful sandy stretch of beach front.  If you have children then its possibly best that you go to the sandy beach which slopes gently out and is shallow quite away out.

You will find plenty of tavernas on the front catering for all tastes and pockets. Walking back up the main street you find a number of family run restaurants, cloths shops and of course the tourist novelty shops. For a fabulous meal Sebastien's is a must, the staff can't do enough for you, the food will blow your taste buds away and for those of you who still hanker for a full English breakfast, here you get breakfast with real bangers not fried hot dogs as most Greek restaurant's serve you.

There is one dance/disco bar called Mikes, this happens to be at the very top of the main street. Apart from that there are some small restaurant's half way down the main street that will stay open until one/two o'clock in the morning. To sum it up, Gordios is real find, because  of the physical nature of the area it is built in it can't be spoilt by over-building, it is beautiful and as long as you are not looking for two miles of disco's and pubs this is the place for you, especially if you appreciate beautiful scenery, fabulous food and a wonderful beach and genuinely friendly people. And yes the dog does go to sleep in the middle of the street at night.
