Rental cars are not really necessary, since Copenhagen can easily be seen on foot, with its compact designed and traffic-free walkways. If you do get a car, consider leaving it in a parking lot and using it only to explore the suburbs or the countryside. Most parking lots are open 24 hours a day, and cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $45 USD per day. Two centrally located lots are Industriens Hus on H. C. Andersens Boulevard, and Park City on Israels Plads.
Taxis can be a bit pricey, but most drivers speak English and are happy to help you figure out where you’re going. When hailing one, watch for the FRI (free) sign or green light, and check to see if the taxi is metered. Tips are included in the meter price.
