Copenhagen has a variety of sports teams, including Denmark’s two leading football teams, FC Kobenhavn and Brondby IF, the latter of which has become the second most successful team in Danish history.  There are also three ice hockey teams, Rodovre Mighty Bulls, Herlev Hornets, and Nordsjaelland Cobras. Copenhagen is also home to several cricket clubs, a rugby team, men’s and women’s handball teams, and three paintball teams.

If you’re looking forward to a jog or bike ride, there are plenty of clean, flat parks with wide avenues, and bikes can be rented throughout the city. Golfers will find Denmark’s best-known and most-challenging course, the Rungsted Golf Klub, about 13 miles north of the city.

In the summer, you can actually swim in the harbour. There are two places to choose from: by the shopping centre Fisketorvet, Havneholmen 0, 1561 København V and Islands Brygge Havnebad, Islands Brygge 0, 2300 København S, just to the right of Langebro, coming from Rådhuspladsen. Here you will find kids pool, diving platforms and an olympic size pool. They are open from the start of June until the end of August and serviced by life guards.
