The restaurant Þrir Frakkar opened in 1989 and is run by the chef Úlfar Eysteinsson and his family. They are particularly well-known for their fish, whale meat and sea bird dishes.

The place is on the small side (seating 44 guests) and even though they have moderate dinner prices and a pretty inexpensive lunch menu, they provide excellent service. Their central location also puts you near major shops and businesses in the city center.

Open Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 2:30 pm and 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Saturdays and Sundays for dinner only: 6:00pm to 11:00pm.

NOTE: Due to the lack of Icelandic font characters, the name is misspelt. It should be Þrir Frakkar (pronounced Thrir).
