Visitors interested in obtaining more information about what to do and see while in Reykjavik should make it a point to visit the Tourist Information Centre, located in the center of Old Town. In addition to providing helpful tourist information to visitors, the Tourist Information Centre is an excellent place for picking up phone cards, attractions passes and souvenirs to take back home to family members left out of the Reykjavik trip. The Tourist Information Centre is also a place where visitors can access the Internet and have mail sent for pick up. As a plus, the Tourist Information Centre is housed inside of a historic building which is worth the visit just for getting a sense of the architecture of Reykjavik.
The Tourist Information Centre is open from eight thirty in the morning until seven in the evening every day from June 1st through to August 31st which is the busy tourist season in Reykjavik. During the rest of the year, the Tourist Information Centre is opens at nine in the morning daily. On weekdays in the off-season, the Tourist Information Centre closes at six in the evening and on weekends it closes early at two in the afternoon.
